Yeti 303 with a 300lb spring!
I have now put a lighter spring in me bike! Well its a 275lb, cos that's what I had lying around, but I'll change it for a 300lb Ti one soon enough. I took it to my local down at Triscombe Stone on the Quantocks and gave it a good try out on some tracks I know well. It's like riding with all the bumps taken away. There's one section there which is reasonably steep and has some quite deep steps down over roots, which on previous bikes have been pretty noticeable and give you a bit of a run for your money in holding your line and stuff. The Yeti is completely different. Ok so you can still feel that there's some pretty big steps there but they really don't affect you or the bike anywhere near as much. It's almost like they were suddenly halved in size. This suspension system is pretty damned on it thats for sure! Check out the Yeti website to see how the rails and pivots work www.yeticycles.com.
